Elspeth Bunker
Elspeth qualified with a B.A. in Developmental Psychology and a Post Graduate Certificate in Education. She was quickly drawn to supporting every child’s needs, choosing to further develop her training in the area of Special Needs. She has worked as a Special Needs Co-ordinator (and member of the SLT) in a variety of settings including, Primary schools, Pupil referral units, and for a large Local Authority Out of School Learning Service (ages 5-16 years). She has also been an Advisory Teacher for the Local Authority’s Learning Support Team, a Special Needs Officer for the County, and a SEND consultant advisor to Primary schools, Secondary schools and Alternative Provision settings in the state, private and academy sectors both locally and nationally.
Her passion is for the inclusion of young people whatever their needs and helping the team around the child to find ways forward by thinking ‘outside the box’. She is also a trained mediator, volunteering with a county wide mediation charity.
She holds a Certificate in Psychometric Testing, Assessment and Access Arrangements (CPT3A), Certification Test User: Educational, Ability/Attainment from the British Psychological Society, an MA in Education (all modules relating to SEND) including assessment and report writing for exam Access Arrangements and an OCR Certificate for Teachers of Learners with Specific Learning Difficulties (SpLD).
