Catherine Pierce
Catherine is a Play Therapist working through the arts to support children and young people toward understanding and expression of their difficult feelings and thoughts. This creative approach is supported by first and second degrees in psychology and training in CBT approaches. She has completed level 1 in Dyadic Developmental Psychotherapy (DDP) and has sustained continuing professional development in this field over 15 years.
She provides one on one therapy, has facilitated group work for adolescents, and engages with the family to support the best outcomes for those involved. Her work within a CAMHS service involves consultation to the networks around the family and signposting where necessary. Her approach is fundamentally non-directive, person-centered, and integrates directive approaches and bodywork. Catherine has worked commercially as a research psychologist and for several years offering psychometric testing and careers counseling within an occupational psychology practice.
Catherine is registered with and accredited by the BAPT (British Association of Play Therapists) and the BACP (British Association of Counseling and Psychotherapy) and abides by their ethical frameworks. She is also a member of the British Psychological Society.
