Our Story

Founders Ruth and Julian have worked as senior leaders in schools, colleges and local authorities for over 30 years. They understand how hard it is to find the right support, at the right time and at the right cost to meet the growing emotional needs of children and young people. They wanted to support a stretched system, to provide a UK-wide directory of professionals to address the mental health and well-being of the next generation.

Why we created TAC Access

As time-served education professionals, we know first-hand the pressures you face in providing support to meet the needs of your community. You need to know that wherever you turn to for support there are experts you can trust. People who have managed the same challenges that you have.

We believe that all children and young people have a basic human right to receive the specialist support that they need to succeed in life. We bridge this support gap by enabling direct links between commissioners and professionals, uniting the Team Around the Client as rapidly and cost-effectively as possible.

Supporting the next generation

In 2020 the founders joined forces with two IT specialists to form TAC Access, with a searchable UK-wide directory at its heart. The aim is to connect professionals directly with those who support children and young people, including parents and carers and education, health, and social care professionals.  We firmly believe that all the money you invest in professional support should be used to buy the expertise needed to support the next generation.

Supporting professionals

Professionals who offer their services through us should get a fair rate for the support that they deliver. That’s why our business model is based on professional membership to TAC Access, not agency fees, and we don’t take a penny in any of the fees paid to our support professionals.
